Recognize your skin type to provide it with the appropriate care and actions
Why is it important to know your skin type?
Our skin is covered with a hydrolipidic film : a thin layer of water and sebum that protects against dehydration and external aggressions. It is the quantity and quality of this hydrolipidic film that determines your skin type. This criterion is primarily genetic , but it can also vary depending on external factors such as pollution, cigarettes, diet, climate, etc. and internal factors such as stress or hormonal variations.
Although every skin is unique, there are four main skin types : dry skin, normal skin, combination skin, and oily skin. Let's explore these different skin types together.
Dry skin
Dry skin is skin that lacks sebum and the necessary lipids to retain moisture. As a result, it lacks a protective barrier against external aggressions. The skin is therefore sensitive, reactive , and thin, which accentuates skin aging.
